Since 2001the DGRM has the Quality Certification in accordance with the requirements of the NP EN ISO 9001 standard, conferred by SGS ICS - International Certification Services within the process of issuing "Certificates of Seafarers"

In 2017 the DGRM extended the scope of the QMS to the remaining operational activities of the flag State, namely the "Ship Certification", in accordance with the ISO 9001: 2015 standard, having obtained on 22 December 2017 the certification for the "Flag State Operational Activities for the Certification of Seafarers and Ships ", and also conferred by SGS ICS - International Certification Services.

In 2019 the DGRM obtained the certification for "Licenses for Yachtsmen and Accreditation of Training Entities for Yachtsmen ".

In 2020, the scope of certification started to include "Inspections of foreign ships. Maritime Traffic Control. Fisheries control and inspection. Request, alteration, renewal, extinction and transmission of Aquaculture Activity Titles. Request, amendment, waiver request and transmission of Permits for the Private Use of Maritime Space. Approval and control of the implementation of Waste Reception and Handling Plans. Monitoring and Inspection of maritime port protection works".

Thus, the DGRM takes advantage of the Quality policy, aimed at promoting continuous improvement, with the objective of meeting the needs of its users and other stakeholders, boosting the economy and protecting the rights and interests of citizens.
