Description
The South East Atlantic Fisheries Organisation (SEAFO) is a regional fisheries management organisation in the South East Atlantic Ocean, aiming to ensure the long-term conservation and sustainable use of fisheries resources in its area of competence.
The Convention was signed in April 2001, and there are currently six Contracting Parties of SEAFO: Angola, European Union, Japan, Namibia, Republic of Korea and South Africa.

This Organisation covers fisheries on various crustaceans, cephalopods, cartilaginous fishes and bony fishes, but the SEAFO Scientific Committee only conducts assessments on the status of commercially exploited stocks that are affected by fishing in the Convention Area, according to the summary
