Pursuant to Ordinance No. 197/2006, of February 23, collectors of marine animals or algae and those who fish on foot must request authorization for direct sale of the captured fish.

These authorizations will no longer include the possibility of direct sale of bivalves, so prior registration of catches at Docapesca, Portos e Lotas, S.A. establishments must be ensured, through supply contracts, under the terms set out in Decree-Law No. 81/ 2005, April 20th.
