The proposal for an Allocation Plan for the Exploration of Renewable Energy (PAER), presented by DGRM, received this week a positive final opinion from the Consultative Committee created by Order from the Minister of Economy and the Sea to support and monitor the work on preparing the allocation plan of areas and volumes of national maritime space for the exploration of renewable energy originating or located in the ocean.
The work of the Consultative Committee was chaired by the DGPM and took place from May to September 2023, and was marked by strong participation and collaboration between entities that contributed decisively to a more consensual and balanced solution in terms of compatibility of uses and activities in the maritime space national. The public consultation will constitute the next stage of this process and will be announced in the short term.
The Advisory Committee recognized the importance of this Plan for the country's economic and social development, with respect for environmental values and an important contribution to achieving internationally agreed decarbonization goals.
