The maintenance dredging at the Port of Nazaré will begin on July 31, 2023.
In a first stage, the work will be carried out by the “Mareta” barge, PT-125064-AL, opening through bottom doors, equipped with a crane and an immobilization system consisting of 2 piles, focusing on the innermost areas of the port ( basins at elevations -2.0; -2.5; and -3.0 m (Z.H)), and will have an expected duration of one and a half months.
Also during the summer, the bar and outer port will be dredged later with equipment with greater capacity.
The sediments to be dredged fall into classes 1 and 2 (Ordinance No. 1450/2007, of 12/11), and will be immersed in the marine environment to feed the coastal drift.
This dredging is part of the multi-annual maintenance dredging contract for the fishing ports in the center for the 2022/2024 period.
