Considering the current level of landings of bigeye tuna (Thunnus obesus) by the Portuguese fleet in the Atlantic Ocean, it is hereby informed that the fishing quota allocated to Portugal has been exhausted.

In this context, and in compliance with point 2 of Article 35 of Regulation (EU) No 1224/2009 of 20 November, it is prohibited to fish for bigeye tuna in the Atlantic Ocean, from 00:00 hours on 30 May 2023. Catches taken until 30 May may be landed until 00:00 hours on 01 June 2023.
