DGRM, through the Head of Infrastructure Division, Ana Rita Freitas, participated in the Journey on Cross-border Cooperation in Mértola, promoted by the CCDRs of the Algarve and Alentejo.

The navigability of the Guadiana River was highlighted, namely with regard to the two sections of the river between Vila Real de Santo António-Alcoutim-Pomarão. The preparation of the intervention on the third Pomarão-Mértola section will be the next objective to be achieved.

The event was chaired by the Secretary of State for Regional Development, Isabel Ferreira, and was attended by several national and Spanish entities from this cross-border region.
