Appointments to the Technical Commission of the International Register of Ships of Madeira (CT-Mar), body responsible for ensuring the procedural processing and quality of ships that enter this international register, as well as appointments to the Technical Support Group .
By order of the Minister of Economy and the Sea, António Costa Silva, João Esteves was appointed as the new president of CT-Mar. He is a mechanical engineer and moves from Lisnave Shipyards to the leadership of this Commission.
For the representative of the DGRM at CT-Mar, Rui Serafim, Director-General of DGRM, was appointed by order of the Director-General of DGRM, José Carlos Simão. It comes from the staff of this Directorate-General and will accumulate the coordination of the Technical Support Group, whose other members of this group have also been appointed, namely the naval engineer, Tomás Vacas and the marine machinery engineer, Pedro Andrade.
The representative of the Regional Government, in CT-Mar, remains the same, that is, Commander Paulo Camacho. Under the terms of the law, logistical support to CT-Mar is the responsibility of the Regional Government of Madeira, whose action was essential for this evolution.
Thus, the tables of these two important bodies are filled, which, in articulation with the DGRM and the Classification Societies, will continue to work and cooperate in order for the Portuguese Flag to maintain its path of development and quality. On the other hand, these teams of multidisciplinary skills within the scope of Shipping, will contribute to responding to the new set of environmental requirements that will apply, from 2023, to existing ships, namely the EEXI and the CII, as well as to the respective annual objectives. of greenhouse gas emission cuts on each ship.
