DGRM at the start of the 16th Conference on Maritime Engineering and Technology 2022 at IST
DGRM, through its Director-General, José Carlos Simão, participated in the opening panel of the 16th Edition of the Conference on Maritime Engineering and Technology at Instituto Superior Técnico. The importance of naval engineering and the challenges facing Shipping, namely in the energy component and emission control, were the main themes of the speech.
Under the theme “Naval Engineering in Transition: Digitization, Circular Economy and Energy Efficiency”, the seminars are coordinated by the Center for Naval and Oceanic Engineering and Technology (CENTEC - http://www.centec.tecnico.ulisboa.pt/) from the Instituto Superior Técnico and by the College of Naval Engineering of the Order of Engineers (OE - https://www.ordemengenheiros.pt/pt/a-ordem/colegios-e-especialidades/naval/).
The President of the Ordem dos Engenheiros, Fernando Almeida Santos, the President of the National College of Naval Engineering, Dina Maria Dimas, and Professor Carlos Guedes Soares from CENTEC, also participated in the opening panel of the event.
The conferences have been held since 1987 and are a forum for the dissemination and discussion of national realities in the field of the naval industry and ocean economy and science, and take place, in parallel, with the 6th International Conference on Maritime Engineering and Technology (MARTECH 2022).
