The dredging of the Port of Ericeira is proceeding at a good pace, with interventions at sea and on land.

The contract includes, in addition to the dredging of the basin, the dredging of the Varadouro ramp and the regularization of Praia dos Pescadores, with the following description:

• Dredging of the port basin at quotas -3.0 m, -2.0 m, -1.0 m (ZH), +5.0 m (ZH), with the aim of improving navigability conditions and accessibility to that port;
• Regularization of the emerged part of the beach, restoring its dimension and existing levels prior to the expansion of the breakwater along the entire front of the marginal retention, between the fishermen's beach and the Varadouro ramp;
• The estimated total volume of sediment to be dredged is around 260,000m3.

If the sea is in good condition, so that the work can be carried out safely, the intervention should be completed during the month of June.

In the infographic, the dredging basins and respective quotas to be reached are presented. The works include the transport and immersion of dredged sediments, fully classified in class 1, that is, of very good quality, in order to feed coastal drift and combat coastal erosion.
