The BFT Annual Plan for 2022 maintains the possibility of capturing, by longline, in an accessory way, of this stock, when fishing directed to other stocks managed by ICCAT, up to 7% of the total fishery.
This calculation of the by-catch will be carried out only in weight and not in number of tuna.
A derogation is made for artisanal and small-scale vessels from the Outermost Regions, where, irrespective of the total weight of catch retained on board, a specimen of BFT may be landed for each fishing trip.
