We inform that, taking into account Council Regulation (EU) 2021/1239, which established the quota for anchovy (Engraulis Encrasicolus) in zones 9 and 10 and Union waters of CECAF zone 34.1.1, with the code ANE /9/341, for the period from 1st July 2021 to 30th June 2022, the catches of this species made by the Portuguese fleet from 1st July 2021 to the present date indicate that the use of the quota has reached 80%. It may be necessary very soon to close this fishery.
