The General Directorate of Natural Resources, Safety and Maritime Services (DGRM) launched the tender for the dredging of the Port of Tavira, in order to re-establish safety and operational conditions in navigation.
Excess sediments will be removed from the harbor bar and the contiguous zone of four waters, being deposited in the littoral drift in order to feed the beaches with a lack of sand.
Competitors have 30 days to submit proposals from the date of the announcement published in Diário da Republica.
This intervention represents an investment of about half a million euros (VAT included) and is very very important for fishing and tourist-maritime activities, in order to strengthen the safety of vessels, crews and passengers in the access channel to the ports of Tavira (Tavira, Cabanas and Santa Luzia).
It is recalled that in 2018 the DGRM completed the recovery of the nascent breakwater of the Tavira bar, having carried out an accessory dredging in the intervention area at the time.
