In compliance with Article 34 (a) of Regulation (EC) No 1224/2009 of 20 November 2009, and considering the data of the bycatch, by the Portuguese fleet, of bluefin tuna (Thunnus thynnus) in the Atlantic Ocean, east of 45ºW, and Mediterranean, with code BFT/AE45WM, it is reported that the use of this quota for this species has reached 80%, and it may be necessary very soon, to close the by-catch.
