Following the endorsement by the Council of Ministers of measures of an extraordinary, temporary and transitory nature at the level of public administration in order to safeguard the health of all citizens, the DGRM decided to suspend until 9 April the carrying out of competency and qualification examinations for seafarers.

Additionally, other measures relating to the revalidation of professional certification, conditioned by the failure to carry out exams or refresh and/or refresher courses, may be adopted, which will be communicated in due time and disclosed on the official website of the DGRM.

In accordance with the Article 16 (1) of Decree-Law No. 10-A/2016, in conjunction with Article 37, public authorities accept, for all legal intents and purposes, the presenting documents susceptible to renewal whose validity period expires on 9 March or during the 15 days prior to expiry.
