Main Indicators
The Maritime Administration's main target of activity is the set of ships and vessels registered in Portugal, in their different types, as well as the professionals on these vessels or on ships of other flags.
Ships
The main vessels are the SOLAS vessels which are subject to international safety conventions applied to merchant navy vessels. The number of SOLAS ships shown is the result of the sum of the ships in the Conventional Register with the ships in the second register (RINMAR - Madeira International Ship Register).
Then follow all the other ships and boats, in different types, registered almost entirely in the Conventional Register of Portugal.
Seafarers
Individuals on board vessels - seafarers - can work on merchant navy ships, local traffic or fishing vessels. The distribution is as follows.
