Navigation safety is one of DGRM's priorities. In this context, carrying out maintenance dredging in bars and access to ports, in order to allow safe navigation and safeguarding life at sea, is an essential aspect, as well as providing the conditions for the social and economic development of riverside communities.
The Multiannual Dredging Plan for Algarve Fishing Ports 2024-2026 (PPDrag-Algarve 2024-2026) aims to plan efficient management of dredging operations necessary to maintain the safe operational conditions of ports on the Algarve coast, to be developed under the responsibility of DGRM.
The PPDrag-Algarve presents dredging plans, with definition of basins and service quotas, for the following ports and port areas: Baleeira, Lagos, Alvor, fishing port of Portimão, Albufeira, Vilamoura, Quarteira, Faro, Olhão, Fuseta, Santa Luzia, Tavira, Cabanas and Vila Real de S. António.
